The Evolution of Xiaomi Redmi Phones


Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics and software company that has released numerous brilliant phones over the past few years. They had released lines of smartphones, tablets and more but the most famous smartphone line that they have is Redmi. Redmi is a budget xiaomi smartphone that was first announced in July 2013 and has instantly become a hit with the public.

Xiaomi Redmi uses the MIUI operating system which is a variant of Android. Xiaomi Redmi was marketed in Asia and Europe and was even reported to have been sold out in Singapore in 2014. Since then Xiaomi Redmi released a series of models throughout the years.

The xiaomi redmi 2 was released on January 2015 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Chipset and comes in 2 variants. Its features include a normal version which has 1GB RAM and 8GB of user memory, it also has an enhanced version which has 2GB RAM and 16GB of user memory. Its predecessor is Xiaomi Redmi 1 and its difference is that redmi 2 has touch sensitive control keys and it has a better focal length with its camera.

The xiaomi redmi 3 is the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 2 and was released on January 2016. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Chipset and its graphics processor is Adreno 405. The difference or Redmi 3 from Redmi 2 is that its OS supports Android 5.1 MIUI, it has better dimensions, its physical size is a lot bigger, its camera has 13 megapixels while Redmi 2 only has 8 megapixels.

But the top two bestselling Redmi series phones from xiaomi phone is Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro. Let’s go down to the details of these phones.

The xiaomi redmi 4 is the first major launch of Xiaomi for 2017, followed by Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro. The OS of both phones is the same as well as its basic features such as having touch sensitive control keys. However, Xiaomi Redmi 4 is lighter than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro as it weighs 5.50 oz. while the other weighs 6.14 oz. If taking pictures is what you do with your camera, xiaomi redmi 4 pro offers Dual Back Camera that has 13.0 MP and 5.0 MP respectively, so you can capture each moment in every angle. It also has 5-element lenses and two-tone flash. Xiaomi Redmi 4 may not have a Dual Back Camera but its main camera has 13.0 MP which has a great focal point.

For those who just love to take pictures, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro is the camera to go, but if you are looking for features that are as great as the pro but want to keep it simple the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is the phone for you.
